Book Review- We Come Apart

we come apartWe Come Apart is a sensational thriller about differences, pain, love.

I think this book is really different to normal teen books; it’s got a vibe to it that’s entirely unique and I was totally enthralled by the plot Sarah Crossan and Brian Conaghan wove.

Jess has been swept into the wrong crowd. After her home life is left in tatters around her, it seems like her only option to fit in. But then she meets Nicu, and all that changes. She suddenly sees a different life, a kinder one, and with Nicu, she could make it happen.

But how far would they go to stay together?

This book contains a very important message about the treatment of refugees and I think people need to read more books like this to understand life from a different point of view.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes originality in a book.

Book Review- Beautiful Broken Things

BBTThis unique story swept me off of my feet. It was filled with a lot of situations that teens can relate to, and it is brimming with emotion and bad decisions.

Caddy and Rose are best friends. It’s always been like that. Until Rose meets Suzanne. At first, she seems OK, but inside she’s falling, and trying not to pull Caddy down as well…

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves books about the complexities of female friendship.

Book Review- The Sun is Also a Star

The sun is also a star Nicola Yoon is back with another powerful explosion of a book, The Sun is Also a Star. I have posted about another on one her books, Everything, Everything, and I absolutely loved it. The same goes for this wonderful book of destiny and love.

This book really captures the essence of teenage loving, losing and finding the One, and all the pain in between.

I would recommend this to anyone who’s a sucker for romance books (like me).

Book Review- The Fault in Our Stars

The-Fault-in-Our-StarsThe Fault in Our Stars is a lyrical, electrifying journey through illness, love and a whole lot of OKs.

Hazel has survived certain death by a miracle, but cancer is still evident. When she meets Augustus, a boy who has recovered from cancer, they fall for one another, but when a shocking truth reveals a dark reality, will their relationship survive?

I loved this book. I would recommend it to anyone who is a bit bored and needs some laughs and emotion in their lives 🙂

See you next post,

Book Review- Everything, Everything

Everything, Everything BookEverything, Everything is a beautiful, eye-opening book about love and the risks we take to ensure that we have it.

Madeline has SCED (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency) and is allergic to everything Outside. She hasn’t left the house in seventeen years.

Every day she has been through the same routine in a neverending cycle. But when Olly moves in next door, everything changes for Maddy.

This book was adventurous, lyrical and heartbreaking all at once. I loved every moment of it.

Don’t forget to read the book before you see the movie!

Book Review- Percy Jackson

the lighning thiefI really loved this book!  The humour was overwhelming- my sides ached after reading the contents page!

The story is based around Greek Mythology and Percy, a troubled boy with ADHD and living with his repulsive stepfather and sweet but intimidated mum,  is imaginably surprised when he finds out he’s the son of a Greek god. As he embarks on a draining and exciting quest, he makes firm friends, but can he give Zeus back his lightning bolt before a WAR OF THE GODS ERUPTS?

This book was absolutely stunning. Anyone who hasn’t read it hasn’t lived. There is a whole series of these books just waiting for you to crack up over!

Book Review- Crimson Poison

crimson-poisonCrimson Poison is an action-packed novel based in futuristic Hong-Kong.

Natalie Walker is an orphan heiress of her parent’s game empire, worth millions. Her crooked aunt tries to get her filthy hands on all the money that’s rightfully Nat’s, while Nat herself is on the case to stop a criminal mastermind with plans of world domination.

It was fantastic! I  really enjoyed every moment and found it hilarious yet sombre. I would recommend this to, really, anyone who likes any of my other books I’ve reviewed.

Let me know what you think in the comments!

Book Review- Geek Girl Series

geek girl 1 This is quite a special book. Pictured on the left is the first book in the stunning GEEK GIRL series!

I had previously seen this book in the library but never actually got round to reading them until my friend recommended them.

Harriet Manners, a socially inept and geeky fifteen-year-old, struggles to fit in at school, especially as she is prey to the school’s bully, Alexa.

It was amazing. Holly Smale blends endless teenage troubles into these stylish and sassy series. I would recommend to anyone who likes heartfelt, enjoyable novels about friendship and family. Enjoy embracing your inner geek!

Book Review- Apple and Rain

Apple and RainApple and Rain is a beautiful and moving book. It highlights many struggles children face as they grow up and really hit home about the struggles of being a young girl in Britain and all the experiences, both good and bad, that you gain.

When Apple’s mum finally returns after eleven years, Apple feels complete. She has someone to talk to now about boys and bra sizes that she couldn’t have done before.

But her elation quickly plummets with a realisation that maybe her mum wasn’t the heroine she had depicted in her dreams…

Book Review- Creating the Impossible

Creating-The-Impossible This is not typically the sort of book I blog about, but honestly, it  BLEW MY MIND. In this fantastic and innovative book, Barbara Edie explains the remedy for success in not only business, but life. The powerful examples and inspirational quotes give  simple but meaningful steps on how to step out from your barriers and share your talent with the world!

This thought-provoking, life-changing bestseller is one of a kind, and is wonderful and captivating from the very first page. It gives examples of individuals who achieved their dream and that all it takes is grit, passion and courage to step out into the sunshine and believe in yourself. This book should be not only for adults, but for children as well. From here children can acknowledge and react to their dream. If this is put to a side, children may not realise their full potential at all, meaning they have lived a life that they didn’t even enjoy living.

This book is simple but powerful, and must be read.
