The Best Headcanons of All Time :)

Hey everybody!

Today we’re doing something a little different. Ever heard of book headcanons? If yes, skip this little intro and skip straight to the juice (this is for amateurs 😉 )

So, headcanons are basically comments, realisations and side-stories about various different (mostly well-known) books. Generally, it’s the magical ones- like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson- or the dystopian books- like Divergent or the Hunger Games. Some books get the credit because of the movie version’s cast, like The Fault In Our Stars.

I hope you enjoy my best batch o’ heady canons (Ahem. Excuse me.)! 😉

*CAUTION- THERE ARE SOME MAJOR SPOILERS. THESE ARE ONLY INTENDED FOR FANS WHO HAVE FINISHED THE SERIES, BUT SNEAK-PEEKERS ALSO WELCOME*

Book Review- The Flight of a Starling

The Flight of a Starling

Rita and Lo are sisters. They are closer than closer than close; they can tell each other everything. Lo loves dancing high on the trapeze, feeling as if she were on top of the world. Then Lo meets a boy, and suddenly, all she wants to do is stay on the ground. As dark truths and ugly secrets slowly tear her apart, how far would Lo go to stay grounded?

Flight of a Starling is a raw, uncultured hurricane of the confusing emotions of teenagerhood, with a backdrop of a flamboyant, colourful circus, but the reader gets a deep and true insight into the people behind the greasepaint as well.

In this harrowing story of happiness, love, pain and realisation, the reader is sure to be hit hard with barrels of deep and unfiltered emotion.

I’m Back!

Hi all,

I know it’s been a long time since I last posted. I am very sorry for cutting short this amazing experience, but now that all technical difficulties have been sorted out, I can continue blogging long-term.

Enjoy!

The Ghosts of Heaven

This is a truly phenomenal book. It has no definition, no genre: it cannot be put into a group with different books. It is unique. Travelling through time, the four quarters of this novel fit eerily together.

It takes you to the first people to roam Earth, and a girl who unknowingly kills her people, and far into the future as Keir Bowman travels through a high-tech spaceship

I have never read anything of the kind and you won’t have either. It is truly remarkable. I am mightily impressed by Marcus Sedgwick and his beautiful style and use of language.

I am looking forward to reading another of his book, The Foreshadowing. I can’t wait to blog about it.

Fallen Grace

fallen-graceThis book, from the author of Velvet, is stunning. The plot, characters and setting were perfectly blended and the ending was deliciously chilly.

I loved this novel! You will especially love it if you are interested in History, death and stylish villains.

All of Grace and her sister Lily’s adventures and rewards, joys and trials are captured in this short but compelling story.

I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I did.

Velvet

velvetThis book was so powerful! I loved the trap and the twist at the end. It had me hooked from start to finish. While Mary Hooper wrote this masterpiece, she has proved to be one of the few gifted authors who can illustrate a variety of different situations and conjure up mystery at any given moment, making every word in the book a discovery.

I would definitely recommend this if you like intrigue in books.

The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness

coadThese books are absolutely amazing! They capture the fear and uniqueness of the Bronze Age and yet the writing style fits perfectly on a modern bookshelf. I love the friendship, vulnerability and fearlessness that Michelle Paver sprinkled throughout these amazing and inspiring books. She has craftily devised a devastating yet magic plot to enhance the reader’s imagination.

I would definitely recommend these books to anyone willing to read them. I am currently on the sixth book, Ghost Hunter.
