Book Review- The Sun is Also a Star

The sun is also a star Nicola Yoon is back with another powerful explosion of a book, The Sun is Also a Star. I have posted about another on one her books, Everything, Everything, and I absolutely loved it. The same goes for this wonderful book of destiny and love.

This book really captures the essence of teenage loving, losing and finding the One, and all the pain in between.

I would recommend this to anyone who’s a sucker for romance books (like me).

Book Review- The Fault in Our Stars

The-Fault-in-Our-StarsThe Fault in Our Stars is a lyrical, electrifying journey through illness, love and a whole lot of OKs.

Hazel has survived certain death by a miracle, but cancer is still evident. When she meets Augustus, a boy who has recovered from cancer, they fall for one another, but when a shocking truth reveals a dark reality, will their relationship survive?

I loved this book. I would recommend it to anyone who is a bit bored and needs some laughs and emotion in their lives 🙂

See you next post,

Book Review- Everything, Everything

Everything, Everything BookEverything, Everything is a beautiful, eye-opening book about love and the risks we take to ensure that we have it.

Madeline has SCED (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency) and is allergic to everything Outside. She hasn’t left the house in seventeen years.

Every day she has been through the same routine in a neverending cycle. But when Olly moves in next door, everything changes for Maddy.

This book was adventurous, lyrical and heartbreaking all at once. I loved every moment of it.

Don’t forget to read the book before you see the movie!

Book Review- Geek Girl Series

geek girl 1 This is quite a special book. Pictured on the left is the first book in the stunning GEEK GIRL series!

I had previously seen this book in the library but never actually got round to reading them until my friend recommended them.

Harriet Manners, a socially inept and geeky fifteen-year-old, struggles to fit in at school, especially as she is prey to the school’s bully, Alexa.

It was amazing. Holly Smale blends endless teenage troubles into these stylish and sassy series. I would recommend to anyone who likes heartfelt, enjoyable novels about friendship and family. Enjoy embracing your inner geek!

Series order:

  • Geek Girl
  • Geek Girl- Model Misfit
  • Geek Girl- Picture Perfect
  • Geek Girl- All That Glitters
  • Geek Girl- Head Over Heels
  • Geek Girl- Forever Geek

Book Review- Apple and Rain

Apple and RainApple and Rain is a beautiful and moving book. It highlights many struggles children face as they grow up and really hit home about the struggles of being a young girl in Britain and all the experiences, both good and bad, that you gain.

When Apple’s mum finally returns after eleven years, Apple feels complete. She has someone to talk to now about boys and bra sizes that she couldn’t have done before.

But her elation quickly plummets with a realisation that maybe her mum wasn’t the heroine she had depicted in her dreams…
